This Magnum Opus was ordered to match the first 953 curly made in 2020, also featured at the Gallery; the two have sequential frame numbers. This one was delivered in the summer of 2023, slightly larger, with similar lugwork and finish. The lug windows are finished in sky blue enamel, with dark blue lining, by Argos of Bristol.
Components were selcted to give a slightly retro-classic look (avoiding the current black-anodized Campag Super Record groupset*), as follows: Campag Ergo 8-sp. levers and mechs, Record dual-pivot brakes, Record PD-02RE pedals w/Campag clips (I never liked clickies) & VO straps, Campag Bowden cables; Gilles Berthoud Galibier saddle with titanium frame, Thomson Masterpiece titanium pin; Mavic Ksyrium SSC wheels, Conti Grand Prix tires; engraved Cinelli stem, VO bar tape; Chris King headset; VO Grand Cru drillium crankset, 175mm, 48/34T, w/VO bb bearing, Campag C9 chain.
