Buyer beware: fraudulent offers of Hetchins have been spotted on the Internet. The Hetchins may be bogus, or they may be genuine and the sellers not.
|
Example 2: a bogus Hetchins was offered for sale at ebay. |
Example 3: a bogus seller had offered a genuine Hetchins at craigslist. This same Hetchins has been offered before and at least one prospective buyer got burned. The Editor knows where this bike is and it is not in the possession of the person offering it for sale. |
There is an easy test to determine whether a seller actually has possession of the item: ask the seller to provide a photo we haven't seen yet, with a current newspaper clearly visible in front of the bike frame--of course NOT in front of a PHOTO of the bike frame! Note that it is a crime to offer something for sale which one does not possess, even if no one falls for the trap.
