What we do for fun around here

A reader from Yokohama sent the following photos of cycle touring in Japan. The bike is listed in the ledgers as a model Super S(pecial), with curly stays. It was first sold on 19 August 1948, price 19 pounds 19 shillings no pence. First owner not given (likely sold to trade).

The paint is unlikely to be original from 1948, but it is possible. If it is a repaint, it is a very accurate one: the fully chromed head tube and fully chromed stays were typical of that time period.
